practices in a wide variety of areas, including land use and zoning matters, municipal law, tax certiorari, environmental law, business law, and corporate and commercial litigation. Jon has represented numerous clients in the local land use permitting process, including project applicants, project opponents, and municipal reviewing boards responsible for reviewing projects requiring special use permit, site plan, variance, and other land use approvals. Jon has litigated shareholder disputes, commercial contract disputes, fraud cases, land use and State Environmental Quality Review Act matters, and tax certiorari matters, among many others.
Jon has served as adjunct professor at the University at Albany, teaching Principles of Federal Tax Research to graduate students in the University’s Masters of Science in Taxation program. Jon has also served as adjunct professor at Union Graduate College, teaching Legal Principles of Business to students in the College’s Masters of Business Administration program. Jon’s volunteer activities include participating as a pro bono clinic volunteer with the Albany Law School Senior Day; assisting in the building of a new home through Habitat for Humanity; participating as a volunteer in The Legal Project’s Small Business Pro Bono Clinic; presenting as a guest speaker on entrepreneurship to local high school seniors; and participating as a mentor volunteer to local fifth graders in the Junior Achievement program.
Jon has served as the President of the Rotterdam Business Association and as Chairman of the Town of Rotterdam Steering Committee.
Jon graduated from Albany Law School, summa cum laude, where he served as the Executive Editor for Lead Articles for the Albany Law Review. His undergraduate studies were completed at the University at Albany, magna cum laude. Jon is admitted to practice in New York State courts as well as the United States District Court of the Northern District of New York. Jon is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Rotterdam Business Association.
